WORLD BRAIN DAY

World  brain  day -

There are many days related to neurological diseases being observed by professional organizations along with World Health Organization, National Organizations and Local Health Ministries, World Stroke Day, Epilepsy Day, Rabies Day etc. These days have proved extremely helpful in promoting public awareness. And advocacy worldwide including developing Asian, African and Latin American countries.

The World Federation of Neurology was established on 22 July 1957. It was suggested by the Committee on Public Awareness and Advocacy that 22 July 2014 should be celebrated as "World Brain Day". The proposal was announced at a meeting of the WCN, Council of Delegates, on 22 September 2013 and was warmly welcomed by the delegates. A meeting of the Board of Trustees in February 2014 supported this proposal as an annual activity.

The main purpose of this day of the brain is to raise public awareness and promote advocacy related to brain health. The theme of this year's campaign is "Our Brain, Our Future".

WCN 2015 will acknowledge a society with the most effective awareness and advocacy campaign.

World Brain Day is an annual observation celebrated on 22 July. It was established by the World Federation of Neurology to raise awareness about the importance of brain health.

The World Federation of Neurology (WFN) is an international association of national neurological societies that was formed in 1957 in Brussels, Belgium. It currently represents more than 100 professional societies of neurologists in all regions of the world. These are the main goals to promote neurological education and training worldwide and to promote neurological health.

Neurology is a branch of medicine that deals with nervous system disorders, including brain disorders, as the brain is the main organ of the human nervous system. The human mind is one of nature's greatest mysteries, scientists still cannot fully elucidate the complex relationship between the brain and the mind. No wonder brain health gets so much attention.

World Brain Day is an awareness event dedicated to brain health. Its purpose is to educate people about brain health and the most common brain diseases, each year, WFN chooses a new topic for the day. For example, World Brain Day 2015 focused on epilepsy. That year, WFC partnered with the World Health Organization, the International Bureau for Epilepsy, and the International League Against Epilepsy.
